Egmondse annalen Explanation: Lo lascerie in olandese con, tra parentesi (Gli Annali di Egmond). v. anche il sito del Huygense Instituut: http://www.huygensinstituut.knaw.nl/web/index.php?option=com... The pre-Beka historiography of Egmond (which is almost identical to the historiography of Holland and constitutes the greater part of the West-Netherlands historiography of the time) chiefly comprises three sources: I. The Egmondse Annalen (‘Annals of Egmond’). An extremely important source transmitted in one manuscript. A lot more has become known about the nature, creation and dating of this work; a new edition with translation and explanatory notes (critical notes, historiographical comments, particularly regarding the sources and their processing, and explanations of the historical facts themselves) is urgently required. Part of this is an edition of the Annales Xantenses, an interesting Carolingian historical work that was incorporated into the Annals by the first author. |
