M.b.t. het schiemanswerk:

Schiemanswerk omvat alle handelingen en verbindingen die men met alle soorten touw, trossen en staaldraad kan toepassen.
De schieman was vroeger op de grote zeilvaart de speciale vakman die verantwoordelijk was voor al het touwwerk. Het werk dat een schieman doet wordt ook wel schiemannen genoemd.

Ik ben op zoek naar de Engelse term, tot nu toe onvindbaar voor mij.
