In order to optimize the representativeness of the weather data, in accordance with what found by some authors in literature and coherently with what prescribed by the EN ISO 15927-4:2005, the TRYEN calculation procedure can be modified introducing weighting factors for the different primary variables to develop TRY for specific purposes (e.g., heating or cooling energy needs evaluation). This is partially already done for the design days according to the EN ISO 15927-2:2009 (CEN, 2009) and could be extended to the TRY calculations.

On Development of Design Day for Cooling Energy Need Calculations

The idea is to replace the design day for cooling load calculation by design day for cooling energy need (DEDCEN) while keeping the same
calculation procedure. This would enable to introduce the dynamic impact of weather to the calculation of cooling energy use.

Antother interesting example:

A series of test cases were run in EnergyPlus to test the TIM model. The building was a very simple box with walls facing north, south, east, and west, all of which are exterior walls. Transparent Insulation Material has been applied to the south wall (except as noted in the table below). The program was run for this fictional 1 zone building located in Chanute AFB IL, for two design days, (21st June and 21st January). The main purpose of these runs was to verify that the transparent insulation model was predicting results that were reasonable using a simple test case. The winter design day was also modified in some runs to have a clearness of 1.0 so that the effect that solar radiation during winter-time conditions could be studied.

Test cases included no movable insulation, moveable opaque insulation, and TIM on the exterior (south wall unless otherwise noted). Savings reported are heating and cooling loads for the design days only. The results showed that the TIM model was performing reasonably well and was producing results that were within expectations.

It is 'odd' technical language (and it is a complicated concept).

If you come across ISO standards in your translation it can be very helpful to refer to the equivalents of the target language.

It would even be wise to copy the equivalent sentences you find there, as these are part of the approved standard.
In addition, the English version is most likely no translation of the Dutch version.
