English translation: sum assured

Dutch term or phrase: betalend verzekerd bedrag
This is contrasted with 'premievrij (or premievrijgesteld)verzekerd bedrag'. The meaning seems clear, i.e. the amount insured while you continue paying premiums, but does anyone have a nice term for this ?

Explanation:
I'm afraid the insurer has created his own terminology.
(I wouldn't go for "the sum insured not made paid-up"!)

The sum assured and the paid-up sum assured make up the total sum assured... Since both "sum assured" and "paid-up sum assured" are generally accepted and broadly used insurance terms, I wouldn't change a thing about these two.

Notes to answerer
Asker: The trouble is that I need to contrast this with the 'premievrijgestelde' sum assured - what about something like 'premium-based' ?

Asker: The betalend and the premievrij verzekerd bedrag together make up the 'totaal' verzekerd bedrag.

agree  jarry (X): This is obviously meant to be the amount assured for as long as renewal premiums are paid. You might consider adding 'current' to sum assured.
