Dutch term or phrase: koopsom bij leven
This is a type of insurance/assurance which only pays out if the insured party is still alive at the end of the period - any claim dies with the insured party. Any ideas in English ?

life annuity
Definition
Annuity that continues to pay out as long as the annuitant is alive.
http://64.233.167.104/search?q=cache:ncZF23fvPx8J:www.invest...

A pure life annuity provides an annuity income that is entirely contingent on the continued life of an individual. Annuity payments continue as long as the annuitant survives, but the payments stop when the annuitant dies regardless of how soon that may occur after the annuity starting date. No further amounts are payable to the annuitant's estate of beneficiary.

Asker: Both the definitions you quote refer to a payout when the insured party dies (koopsom bij overlijden ?). Koopsom bij leven on the contrary only pays out if the insured party is still alive at the end of some period.

Thanks for your effort. In the end I used a paraphrase.
Notes to answerer
Asker: In this document at least a (life) annuity is a 'lijfrente'. 'Koopson bij leven' is a lumpsum payment at a given maturity date made only if the insured party is alive. In the Dexia glossary mentined by Lincy there is the idea if Kapitaal bij leven and Kapitaal bij overlijden and 2 similar terms in German and French BUT the English version only has 'Death benefit' no 'Life benefit'. I have even asked the Association of British Insurers about the term to no avail. In the meantime I have used a paraphrase rather than a specific term.

Asker: Oops, pardon the typos in my previous note!
