used to ... foolishly Explanation: Volgens mij kun je bij het opvolgen van een advies niet van 'good practices' spreken: het is 'good practices' het zware advies van commissie X op te volgen (..) Doet de inhoud van het advies er dan niet toe? Moet niet elke keer weer worden overwogen op het advies moet worden opgevolgd? Alleen tot nu toe is het steeds zo geweest dat regeringen dit advies hebben opgevolgd en de schrijver schijnt dat om de een of andere reden goed te vinden. Ik zou iets willen voorstellen als: Contrary to what goverments used to do, following the weighty advice of committee X, this goverment foolishly choose to ignore it. |
