appetiser (snack) Explanation: The origin of the word is french: apéro, which is usually a drink before dinner, but can also be a little snack. It's more a Flemish word than Dutch. Kip apero would be any chicken dish that functions as an appetiser snack, so not necessarily drumsticks. For example these apero brochette kip: http://www.dekleinebassin.be/NL/bbqmenus.html.
