Dutch term or phrase: filiatie -> filiation ???
I am working on a text in the area of electrics, but am very hesitant to render 'filiatie' with 'filiation', since this latter term does not seem to pop up in English parallel text on the topic.

I would be grateful for any suggestions for the correct English term and an explanations of what it is in English (a Dutch definition is provided below). Many thanks in advance!

Here is a definition:

'Filiatie is gebruik maken van het begrenzingsvermogen van vermogensschakelaars. Dit laat toe om stroomafwaarts vermogensschakelaars te gebruiken, met een kleiner onderbrekingsvermogen(dan Id).'

'Maak duidelijke afspraken mbt filiatie en selectiviteit'

'Voorzie bv. vermogenschakelaar met Icc = 25 kA ( geen filiatie voorzien)'

'Aangenomen wordt dat de filiatietechniek 16 kA ICC toelaat, na de 30 kA vermogen-scheider. '

'Voordeel van filiatie : gebruik van goedkopere vermogenschakelaars (kleiner onderbrekingsvermogen).'

Explanation:
I think this is a tipical Flemish word though I would not know how we say that in Dutch. See filiatietechniek:
Belgian site: 9.7.2. Coördinatie van beveiligingstoestellen tegen kortsluitstroom (=Filiatietechniek).
Dutch site: De coördinatie van beveiligingstoestellen moet tussen fabrikant en gebruiker worden overeengekomen.
(=Filiatietechniek).

Het zouden beschermingsketens kunnen zijn in het Nederlands. En dat kan je weer helpen om een goede Engelse oplossing te vinden. Ben niet helemaal zeker. Sorry voor de High, waar ik op inzette. Is hier zeker niet op zijn plaats. Succes.
