carriers Explanation: Cd's and DVD's are data or music carriers. I think this would be the best translation. |

substrate Explanation: 'Substrate' is often used in this sense in in art/applied art conservation and certainly for art on paper and canvas. OED: amongst other meanings, 'a material that provides the surface on which something is deposited or inscribed'. Example sentence(s):

carrier Explanation: Support will obviously not work here as that would apply to the canvas or paper etc on which an artist might work. Here in terms of multmedia you need to use the word carrier I think.
