Bvd.

sale without disclosure of the owners

Explanation:
I think "silent sale" does not fully match what is meant. Here it obiviously concerns the sale of ships, without initial publication of the owners, for obvious reasons.

neutral  philgoddard: This doesn't quite cover it - it's not just the owners that aren't being disclosed, but the fact that the ship is for sale at all.//See the discussion entries.

  -> That sounds a bit illogical Phil. How can you put a ship up for sale without mentioning its for sale?? Can you explain that one to me?

agree  Jack den Haan: Potential buyers can also take the initiative of contacting the agent if they have information, other than through advertising media of course, that the ship is for sale. At least that's the way it works in the real estate market in the NL.
40 mins
  -> Exactly. Thanks.

2 hrs
  -> I don't think Google hits are relevant here. It obviously doesn't mean "uitverkoop".

disagree  Alexander Schleber (X): The context says that the ships are "geplaatst op de website" - and then in discussion entry it is added that they are "not shown". That means that a sale of for instance "Oil tanker, 250.000 tons, running under Liberian flag for sale" is advertised.
5 hrs
  -> Sorry, but this sounds like pure supposition to me. There is nothing in the rather vague and confusing context to suggest this. It says "Het schip zal dan niet zichtbaar zijn", not "de naam van het schip zal niet zichtbaar zijn".

for sale by invitation only

Explanation:
