3 +1 | triage, assessment of needs |

assessment Explanation: In Denmark, people who need help in their home are 'visited' by someone from the social services who assesses their needs. The allocation of resources, e.g. home help etc. is based on the 'visitation'. |

triage, assessment of needs Explanation: ... but in fact you probably need to rephrase the sentence to get it to make sense in English. ´Visiterede ydelser´ may be anything from practical help in the home to mobility aids, physiotherapy or other treatment, and in fact what is meant here is an assessment of needs. http://www.htk.dk/voksne_og_aeldre/pleje_og_omsorg/hjemmeple... The delightful tautology here - Al hjemmehjælp visiteres via visitationen af faguddannet personale fra Høje-Taastrup Kommune. Visitationen kan kontaktes på telefon ... - Means someone can be asked to come and assess the person's home and ability to cope. Another example here: http://www.aarhus.dk/da/borger/aeldre/Hjaelp-og-pleje/Visita... The expression is widely used in the social services, but not always popular with the people involved: it smacks too much of ´kropsvisitation´ in some people´s ears! |
