revolving chimney cowl Explanation: revolving chimney cowl This is a piece at the top of a chimney that turns with the wind to disperse the smoke There are many different types and sizes... http://www.google.com/images?hl=da&q=chimney cowl&um=1&ie=UT... -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 1 hr (2010-07-16 14:44:53 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Så må du undskylde - jeg har nok misforstået. Flue outlet? Rotatable flue outlet?? This is not an area I specialise in, but a furnace or oven often has some kind of baffle or damper to regulate air and smoke flow and reflect the heat while allowing the smoke to escape. On one model this is called a smoke throat (in a book I have). But this is fairly open, and not what I would normally call a ´studs´ in Danish. I cannot imagine why a flue outlet should rotate, but the studs is normally the end of a pipe. However, it could of course have some kind of rotating fan fitted to keep the smoke circulating in the right direction. But without more context I am really somewhat puzzled. Unless you mean that at the time of installng the oven, the direction of the outlet could be turned to fit into a chimney from several possible angles? Sorry I cannot be of more help! |
