Danish term or phrase: merit
The sentence has to do with regulations regarding 'merit' in a degree context.

Danish description of 'merit':

Har du gennemført en uddannelse eller dele af en, kan du søge om at få et eller flere fag godskrevet som led i en ny uddannelse.

Anyone know the English term for 'merit'? Don't think it's actually the same word.

agree  Eliza-Anna: Also Politkkens Da-Da confirms. You can also have "transfer of credits" which is "meritoverførsel" in Danish. I have come across this several times.
