Danish term or phrase: Guf
The topping made of egg whites and powdered sugar and used on ice cream cones in Denmark.
In this case, it's for a recipe in a magazine for a cake with a "guf" topping.
It has to be part of the name of the recipe, so I can't really write much of a longer explanation. I'm thinking 2 words, tops.
Any suggestions?

Explanation:
If it is 'jordbærguf', which is the most typical sort, this might work?

royal icing

Explanation:
See the first link for examples of royal icing. Second link is recipe for a strawberry-flavored guf. Seems like the same thing?

One of the recipes at the first link has "glacé royal" as an alternative. That might be worth considering for its fanciness.

agree  Christine Andersen: Royal icing, nothing fancy. This is the traditional icing on Christmas cakes and for decoration, see recipes in any traditional UK baking book! It is easier to pipe and keeps its shape better than many other types. I never knew what 'guf' was made of!

disagree  564354352 (X): I totally disagree! Royal icing goes hard, whereas 'guf' is supposed to stay light and frothy and deliciously sticky. Not at ALL the same thing. Has anyone ever had royal icing on an ice cream cone??

-> Thanks -- I haven't made "royal icing" before. How about "powdered sugar frosting", the American term for the topping that stays soft and puffy? See http://tinyurl.com/6u44ant. But "powdered sugar icing" goes hard in my experience as a cook.

disagree  Pernille Chapman: I'm with Gitte on this one. Guf is definitely more similar to the soft American frosting/icing used on e.g. carrot cake.

Asker: Thanks, Gitte. I ended up using "sticky meringue topping" (it wasn't the strawberry variety) so your answer had two out of three ;-)

Marshmallow fluff

Explanation:
Marshmallow fluff is the sweet sticky stuff made of egg whites and sugar and used in the US for all sorts of delicious gooeyness. It is similar to the inside of "flødeboller".

Or maybe the term is "marshmallow creme" since "Fluff" is a brand name.

Example sentence(s):
  • "Marshmallow Fluff is a marshmallow creme of the finest quality. Its unusual, light and fluffy texture makes it ideal as a topping, spread or ingredient. Use it on desserts and salads. Use it in recipes for candies, cheesecake, frosting, meringues, cookie
