Danish term or phrase: afiser
It's the liquid used on windscreens in this instance, and I'm interested only in UK English here.

I've come across both "defroster" and "de-icer". (In the U.S., the former is almost exclusively a device in the dashboard that blows hot air onto the _windshield_. The latter is the liquid you squirt onto the exterior of the _windshield_ via the wipers.)

Which is preferred on the Sceptred Isle, if any, and why do you say so?
