Info

Explanation:
Some info about Jia Sidao:

Prime minister Jia Sidao (1213-1275 AD) was criticized by Confucian historians, but he dismissed incompetent ministers, bureaucrats, and army officers, making generals accountable for misappropriating funds. In 1263 the government began buying for a low price one-third of the largest estates, using the money for the army in the crisis and instituting a system of public fields. Threatened by Mongols who honored Confucius and in 1237 reinstituted civil service exams in north China, the southern Song dynasty made Zhu Xi's writings the orthodox doctrine of the state. Even though he attempted to defend the middle kingdom from the Mongol invasion, Jia Sidao was blamed for the defeats even by those who had defected to the enemy.

Meanwhile Song Emperor Zhao Mengqi passed away and the crown was succeeded by his four-year-old son Zhao Xian who was supported by his grandma, Empress Dowager Xie presiding over the governmental affairs. Dowager Xie ordered Prime Minister, Jia Sidao, as the commander to resist the enemy troops. But it was too late. His troops were defeated. Jia was then relieved of his post by Dowager Xie and was dismissed and relegated to Longchuang, Guangdong. When he trekked to Zhangzhou, he took shelter in the Kapok Temple (located at the village entrance of Jiuhu, Longhai) where he was struck to death by Zhen Huchen, a person escorted him. Zhen dragged him to a lavatory and struck his ribs into pieces.

He\'s also a cricket fan!!
Cricket breeding and fighting was once a popular pastime in China. In fact, crickets are partially to blame for the decline of the South Song dynasty; the last premier, Jia Sidao, supposedly neglected important affairs of state to watch his fighting crickets!

The earliest surviving cricket manual, the Cuzhi jing, (Classic of Crickets) was edited by the Song dynasty official Jia Sidao, known today simply as the cricket minister.

............. and an art collector!!
Scholars have also identified the seals of other important owners, including Emperor Qianlong (r. 1736–95) of the Qing dynasty, noted art collectors Jia Sidao (d. 1275), Xiang Yuanbian (1525–1595), Geng Zhaozhong (1640–1686), and An Qi (1633–after 1742), the ninth-century art historian Zhang Yanyuan, and the Song artist and calligrapher Mi Fu (1052–1107).
