Chinese term or phrase: 鐵架
"巨大的麋鹿铁架"

I understand it to be an elk statue, but one made out of iron bars that form a hollow frame rather than one that is solid. It's easy enough to visualize, but I'm not sure what the term is in English.

Explanation:
The Chinese term 鐵架 must be a hollow frame one. See the link below about your term 麋鹿铁架 with a photo, albeit a smaller version.

The English name for this type of design product in the link below is “wire horse sculpture”, hence for your question I would like to suggest “wire elk sculpture”.

Since in terms of material, it could be just a kind of metal maybe iron or even steel for better endurance to make a frame into an animal shape. I wouldn‘t specify it as iron or steel. Just wire is enough for translation purpose.

Notes to answerer
Asker: My concern is that "wire sculpture" tends to describe something that's both denser and thinner than what I visualize - I'm thinking of a metal frame that consists of fewer, but thicker metal bars.
