This is in a physical education textbook for middle-school aged kids in Spain. It appears in the unit on coordination, in which they are doing gymnastics-type exercies. Is it just "running forward"?

  -> I agree. But, at school, we had 'running step-ups' in the gym class and 'circuit training', albeit not described as such.
