Si la titularitat és compartida amb altres institucions, la Universitat cercarà signar acords de copropietat on quedi recollida la diferent participació de cada institució i les despeses que ha d'afrontar cadascuna.

Current translation:

If ownership is shared with other institutions, the University will try and sign co-ownership agreements with the various institutions that have a share in the invention, and will also take on a share of the costs involved for each of these.

Context: ownership of inventions. The title of the section is "Qui paga la sol·licitud de patent?"

I just can't figure out the exact meaning of the sentence. It seems badly written to me, (especially the "cercarà buscar", but at least I understand what that bit means). Let me know which bits of the sentence I've understood correctly and which bits I haven't. And give me any suggestions for improvement.

You will have to write it in good English, but what it means is the co-ownership agreements will define the role of each institution (la diferent participació...) and the money that each institution will have to pay (les despeses que ha d'afrontar...).

'Recollir' here means that the agreement will include what follows.

"Cercarà signar" means indeed they will try to make agreements

Gràcies. Ara ho entenc. És que em pensava que el mot "on" es referia als llocs on signaria acords i no pas en el sentit "dins dels quals". Quant a cercarà signar, al "diccionari d'ús dels verbs catalans", no hi surt enlloc "cercar + inf.", i em sona malament, però aquest diccionari no és exhaustiu, i el meu coneixement de català tampoc no és enorme (tot i que no feria la meitat dels castellanismes que tinc en el text que estic traduint).
