Science - Botany / Museum area description
Catalan term or phrase: entrenuso
Here is the context:

"Quan el gra se sembra prou profund es forma el rizoma, que està constituït pel primer o els dos primers entrenusos més baixos de la tija, el qual situa l’àpex de la plàntula (és l’extrem superior i és una zona meristemàtica) prop de la superfície del sòl."

Anybody know what these first "branches" (perhaps?) of a shoot are known as in English?

Thanks a lot Anabel! I should have thought of that spelling. I didn't find it in Termcat under the plural, and I tried a "Castellanization" on our Spanish KudoZ Term Search, before issuing the request here.

agree  Timothy Barton: Yes. Also in the Diccionari Visual. Make sure you correct the singular for the glossary. Also would be good to include the synonyms with a "/" between each one.
