Wheel rims Explanation: Working "backwards" from the type of wood, ash wood was commonly used for making wheel rims. Why were the best cart wheels made from three different types of wood? Ask author/Answer to Andy Explanation: Andy, no, I don't have any better suggestions, and that's why I didn't venture to give an answer. I did some research on the subject and found only what Sheila herself had found. Be that as it may, there are quite a few better suggestions than simply taking potshots or engaging in a round of wild guessing, which is what your "suggestion" amounts to. In fact, your answer is almost certainly wrong because the author spoke of the wheels earlier in the paragraph and the reference to "bastaixos" is in the middle of a description of woods used for different cart chassis parts (sola, baranes, maimons i braços). My "better suggestion": Sheila should ask the author, if possible, or the agency, or add a footnote. |
