Fissure by definition = a long, narrow opening or line of breakage made by cracking or splitting, especially in rock or earth.
While
Crack by definition = a line on the surface of something along which it has split without breaking apart. "a hairline crack"

So depends on the context really but I see of course where you are coming from Fissure= شق
