Arabic to English translations [PRO]
Tech/Engineering - Engineering (general)
Arabic term or phrase: نجدة
From a Kuwaiti Ministry of Defence RFT. Context:

آلية نوع عدد
شاحنة كذا لوري 12
صهريج كذا تنكر 5
سيارة ثلاجة ...
مشغل قيادة ...
مشغل متحرك (5 طن) -- 1
آلية إنقاذ متوسطة مدولبة آلية 4
آلية إنقاذ ثقيلة مدولبة
نجدة -- 4
سيارة مطبخ

Elsewhere in the document it gives:

M88A1
دبابة إنقاذ (نجدة)

which I would translate as 'recovery vehicle'. See here:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/M88_Recovery_Vehicle

But I also want to translate آلية إنقاذ ثقيلة مدولبة as recovery vehicle, given that the alternatives I have searched for don't seem to exist in English, and pictures آلية إنقاذ show what look like recovery vehicles to me. Are they using three terms for the same thing?

Thank you in advance!

Police car/Ambulance

Explanation:
In some parts of the Arab world, police cars are called سيارات نجدة
http://www.albaldnews.com/news4297.html
It can be also an ambulance or even a towing car as in the URL below

Notes to answerer
Asker: This seems like the best option, in which case they're using one term for two different things. The only complication: any idea why don't they give anything for نجدة under نوع ? Other times they give, for example آلية عربة سيارة .

agree  Randa Farhat: سيارات النجدة is definitely "Police Car" in Kuwait, to distinguish these from سيارات شرطة المرور; as for دبابة النجدة وهي نفسها دبابة الإنقاذ yes it is the MM recovery. The word آلية is generally used for 'heavy vehicle' in Kuwait. مدولبة wheeled.

Patrol / Squads

Explanation:
Yes, they have different terms for the word نجدة
1- Patrol: for civilian or military نجدة
2- Squad or flying Squads for military نجدة
3- Evacuation / rescue vehicle, either tanks or heavy wheeled

Police car is only for civilian use as نجدة

Recovery vehicles are totally different kind of vehicles and I do not recommend using it.

آلية إنقاذ ثقيلة مدولبة = heavy, wheeled rescue vehicle

HTH!

Thank you Tim for your note.
Kindly note that recovery vehicle is what they use in filed repair of tanks and other vehicles, while rescue vehicle is what they use to save trapped solders or human in general. So it is up to you when to use both based on your context.

Notes to answerer
Asker: This helps. I am keeping 'recovery vehicle' but only for "M88A1 دبابة إنقاذ (نجدة)" which is pretty clear but it does seem that rescue vehicle is what is needed for آلية إنقاذ .
