This is a form of Arabic calligraphy named after Yaqut al-Musta'simi:

My question is:

Should خط الياقوت be translated as "Yaqut script" or should one call it "Naskh script" since that is the category of Arabic calligraphy he worked in and developed?

Thoughts are appreciated.

You shouldn't any name is just transliterated. All script names are transliterated like, Nashi, Thuluth, Kufic, Andalus, etc.
