Jonis - If the customer wants to check back - which will never happen, I'm sure - (s)he will need the abbreviation as it is. So I keep it in the translation. But I also give a translation, if I can.

I have extensive experience translating for the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Kosovo. We never translate PAKR when it is in the title of the document.
Other initials such as "C" or "A" etc. which stand for claim and appeal respectively are not translated either the reason being that they have been filed like this in the records.

I would have expected Ankesë Penale, not the other way around. On the other hand, Albanian is not my mother tongue. -- Your reference to the legal officer is good enough -- Regarding "professional translators" I think I am one, having translated Albanian and other languages (and got paid) since 1992, still I don't think that "professional translators" necessarily agree on everything (implying that those who don't agree are unprofessional translators or maybe not even translators).

Hi Lars Erik,
I would like to once more emphasize that the answer I proposed is in fact a quote of what the legal officer of the Court of Appeals of Kosovo told me in answer to my question "Penale Ankesë Krimeve të Rënda".
I don't feel at all comfortable with comments suggesting that my answer is not in proper Albanian. Professional translators perfectly understand what I mean by saying this.

I think Sherefedins suggestion is good, in spite of the fact that it might not be perfect Albanian. You all know that perfect Albanian is a rare thing, and especially in these two documents. Because of confidentiality I can't give you a lot of examples, but my questions have shown some of it, right? -- Regarding Sherefedin's objection to Klemi's suggestion I want to say: the secretary of the court mentions "prokurori i apelit" so "prokurori i apelit krime të rënde" should be possible. However, as I wrote before, I am sure the court would not use his title as an identification for its documents.

The Prosecutor definitely is part of the story, but I am sure that the court does not use his title to identify their documents. -- You might receive the correct answer by e-mail and I'm looking forward to hear from you again.
