I now believe, based on a comment received by Helgard Ullrich-Doerflinger, that the right answer is as given in this kudoz: http://www.proz.com/kudoz/french_to_english/law_patents/1753... An "extrait Kbis" is the French certificate of registration for a legal entity, issued by a "tribunal de commerce". There is also an "extrait K" which is certificate for individual enterprises or a one-man business. Maybe, this time, it will close the question.
