It a roadway lane.
I call it "حارة", is it OK? and I say, for example: الحارة اليمنى، الحارة اليسرى، الحارة الوسطى،الخ.
Al Mawrid and other dictionaries say: درب، ممرن، مجاز but I don't think that these are better than حارة

الحارة has quite a different meaning, in the context you have a road with several lanes, they can be two and more, forget the original text and try to think in Arabic of the word used in a big road with several lanes
