correspond à fin de CE2 (milieu du primaire) - 7/8 ans Explanation: * first grade = CP -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 11 mins (2005-02-23 08:51:10 GMT) -------------------------------------------------- The story (as well as others in the series) is appropriate as a read-aloud even for rather young children and is written at a mid-grade-school reading level. I know of many homeschool children, (who usually don\'t fit into exact grade levels), including my own daughter, who have enjoyed reading this particular book in the series as early as first grade. I wouldn\'t push the book onto sensitive children who find it too frightening, but I also wouldn\'t wait til later grade school to have children read it for the first time. The book is more powerful, I think, when it can be first introduced in the very simple way that young children enjoy such a book. |

U.S. info Explanation: having had children in both countries, mid-grade school normally refers to "middle school" or 6th - 9th grades, depending on the country/region. Lower school is usually ages 6-11 middle school, ages 12-14 high school (secondary school) ages 15-18 (9th-12th grades) |
