administration/government Explanation: Those are the entities which are established for governing but depends of what. In a way both things are right. But it all depends, cause in the enterprises "styresler" can be translated as "management" "board" "board of directors"in the union "committee" for the public work "government" or "administration" it all depends in which context. |

council or governing board Explanation: - council- like city council (careful of spelling), for a municipality. There are all kinds of variants in English, such as County Board of Supervisors (for a county), so it depends upon the source text and the target text how it is meant to be used (and what audience). Board of Directors would be wrong, as that refers to private entities or foundations. - "governing board" could be used in a general sense. (Wouldn't ordinarily be used to refer to any temporary committee, it is more an established institution to govern, to supervise and/or set general policy. |
