an unwanted call Explanation: usually from the so called "telemarketers" - to sell or to advertise somthing -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2005-01-13 04:25:00 (GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Or have a look here: http://www.ecustomerserviceworld.com/earticlesstore_articles... Nuisance and Abandoned Calls Here we look at what the DMAs in both the UK and the US have been doing to regulate predictive dialler behaviour. Type of Nuisance Call 1. The phone rings a few times and then stops before you have a chance to reach it. Type of Nuisance Call 2. You answer the phone, and there is no one there to respond to you, so you wait for seconds, often many, and may hang up before an agent comes on the line. Type of Nuisance Call 3. You answer the phone and the dialler immediately abandons the call. -------------------------------------------------- Note added at 2005-01-13 04:26:45 (GMT) -------------------------------------------------- Nuisance Calls Nuisance calls can range from an excessive amount of ‘wrong numbers’ to persistent unsolicited calls. http://www.telewest.co.uk/html/telephone/phonesecurity/unwan... |
