Explanation:
I think that zoo keeper is probably the equivalent term. It's certainly the usual term for somebody who works in a zoo.

In response to your note:
I\'d avoid zootechnician, as although we English speakers are familiar with zoologist, other words starting with \"zoo\" tend to make us think of zoos. I know the word zootechnics exists, but most English-speakers don\'t say it very often - it isn\'t the sort of word I\'d expect to here on the average pig farm here in Somerset. Perhaps they may use it at the veterinary school in the university.
