| 脇の甘い Gutless, weak-minded, wishy-washy, feeble-minded, spineless, coward, etc. Explanation: Simply put, that what it is. Another expression for same effect (in Japanese) would be 腰が弱い or 腰抜け. (In either case, these are more traditional usage, whereas 脇の甘い is rather recent, trendy term). Therefore, gutless, wishy-washy, feeble-minded, spineless, and coward also applicable. On the side -- For some reason Japanese media like to criticize politician, nothing new in other countires either, but with the use of these expressions.
