Medical - Livestock / Animal Husbandry / sport medicine
French term or phrase: technopatthie
Context: injuries & ailments (torn ligaments, osteochondrosis, etc.) resulting from the repetition of a technique (harness racing in this case). Ordinarily, I'd have spoken of "racing injuries and ailments." "Occupational injuries & diseases" is long and sounds weird for racehorses! The French term is used widely in sports medicine. That may help put someone on the right track.

Thanks for both options. Guess I'll have to go for "technique-related injuries and diseases" or Jeffs' "technique-related pathologies," although in racing they boil down to "repetitive strain pathologies."

technique-related pathology

Explanation:
Yes, I've seen it used in relation to golf, tennis, running, etc., in fact any sport that (as my colleague rightly says) through repetition action (specific techniques) causes over-use or over-exertion of different parts of the body.

-> WORN CARTILAGE ???

TECHNOPATHIE

I - Généralités

If you dissect the word you get "techno" + "pathie" in other words:
technique + pathologie
My answer: TECHNIQUE-RELATED PATHOLOGY
