Hi!

I need a native-speaker's paraphrase/explanation of "open-eyed" in this context:

The 1995 photograph Franklin’s Face, by Diana López (b. 1968), was created by the eight-year-old son of the artist’s housekeeper, to whom Ms. López gave a camera, with instructions to photograph things he did and did not like. The result is a candid, ****open-eyed**** view of a complex social reality seen through two distinct environments: the wealthy house where the boy’s mother works and the poor barrio in which he lives.

Thanks!

Thanks. Choosing only one was tough this time. Gabriel's is very good, and so is Julie's. But this one sort of inspired me to my final choice: unprejudiced. Thank you all!
