Charola literalemente significa um corredor semi-circular em igrejas. No Aurélio há também a referência ao termo nicho, cuja tradução em inglês seria, corretamente, niche. Contudo acredito que se fale do altar e acredito serem possíveis duas possibilidades de interpretação:
1. Caso se refira somente ao altar, eu traduziria como circular altar - encontrado em vários sites no Google;
2. Pode-se pensar também na cúpola sob a qual se encontra o altar. E neste caso seria melhor niche altar cupola. Trata-se somente de uma sugestão.
