Spanish term or phrase: sentence doesn't make sense (much)
Si su sistema de combustible dispone de una válvula de cierre automático (por ejemplo para montar un sensor de nivel exterior al tanque), NUNCA bloquear la válvula de cierre automático.

This S doesn't make sense to me. I do not see the logic in the bit between ( ), especially the PARA MONTAR - one doesn't have a valve IN ORDER TO fit a sensor - and the connection with the rest.

This is my rearrangement. I would like the reassurance of a few other opinions.

If your fuel supply system is fitted with an automatic shut-off valve, ensure that it is NEVER blocked (as might happen, for example, if you /wanted to fit/fitted/ a level sensor outside the tank).

Yes, I agree with your interpretation of what they mean to say - I've seen similar weird constructions before in technical documents.

it says exactly that

Explanation:
It says that you should never block the automatic valve, even if you wanted (to block of the circuit for eg) to mount/mounting a sensor. It says that in Spanish as well, at least they are trying to.
So I read it the way you translated it.
IMHO of course, my experience as well in technical manuals that the client has to clarify as the language is sometimes very awkward.
So I hope that is what it is although I would not vouch for it....

la frase no tiene sentido (mucho)

Explanation:
If your fuel system has an automatic closing valve (for example to put an external level sensor in the tank) NEVER block the automatic closing valve
