I would say student. But it might depend on age. Children go to secondary school at different ages. In England, they are 11. But in our country (CR), they only go to Secondary school at the age of 15.

pisane z hyphenem lub bez; tak gimnazjum jest ujete we wszystkich projektach unijnych typu Socrates albo inne Youth. Periodyki dostarczane mi przez wydawnictwa typu Longman czy Oxford jednakowoz traktuja gimnazjum dwojako: albo gimnasium (wlasnie tak pisane, nie mylic z sala gimnastyczna) albo gimnazjum school - niestety, zreformowano nam system szkolnictwa tak, że nijak się go do systemu brytyjskiego czy amerykańskiego przypasować nie da, a jakoś zapomniano o tlumaczach biednych zuczkach tudziez o magistrantach. BTW - w mojej pracy bylo lower-secondary i ani promotor ani recenzent sie nie czepiali, znaczy moze byc.

A, jeszcze ten uczen, zdecydowanie STUDENT, pupil to maluch, gimnazjalisci by sie ciezko obrazili za taka zniewage :) Wiem, co mowie, belfer jestem :)
