"O leilão restou negativo, tendo sido determinada a expedição de carta precatória para tentativa de venda na comarca de XXX."

The auction is one of the measures established in a bankruptcy proceeding. I tend to believe it is just a term for an unsuccessful auction, however I see it is very specific, so I´d like to ask the opinion of my colleagues.
