真珠湾攻撃後の惨状を見る Explanation: Victor, as you know so well, when we talk about Pearl Harbor, we are talking about the "Day of Infamy" the Pearl Harbor Attack. The aftermath is well known, and it was no joking matter. Thereby my translation. 惨状(sanjo) is a kanji for disasterous situation resulted from (in this case) the attack. It is not just a result, or effect of it. On the other hand, Kanji counterpart of "Exploring" can be investigating, weighing and evaluating the results. My translation is just 見る which is "look into it". It may sound too simple, but I believe this sufficiently describes its English counterpart. If you want to convey the seriousness of the matter, 探査するcan be more appropriate then. |

On the other hand, I would like to get rid of a nuance of too much of a seriousness just in a line of presentation (no shocking), knowing it is a serious historical subject. In my mind, I would make it more look like a project presentation in a middle scool history class. Is this a title of the whole historical project, say, you, a teacher, writes down on the black board? Then, why do not you put re-interprete simply as "Historical Influence of Pearl Harbor". Additionally, I would choose to translate "Pearl Harbor" phonetically on the same level of perception, still leaving academic notion.
