French term or phrase: l'aérien

NB This has nothing to do with air transport. The radar is installed in a port and targets sea vessels.
The contract is for replacing old radar equipment.
I've provisionally used "aerial part".

Many thanks to all contributors. This one proved rather inconclusive, and so I'm closing without choosing an answer. I've had to deliver, and finally used "the aerial part", with aerial as an adjective of course, not a noun.

the devil is in the details.

You CAN find "array" used in connection with radars, but it doesn't mean automatically that the radar in this ST (mounted in/near a port and monitoring the maritime traffic near the port, 99% one with a rotating parabolic antenna") has ANYTHING to do with any kind of "array".

You could have un "array of radars" = SEVERAL radars that work together to cover far more than any of them individually could,

or you could have

ONE radar built as an "array" of interconnected repeated modules - here is one of the most unusual examples

"l'aérien (de radar)" is used in various samples you can find on the Web, it would refer only to the rotating radar antenna.
Obviously, this rotating antenna can not stand and rotate in thin air, so au sense large "l'aérien" would also include everything between the ground and the antenna.

"Supposing" isn't enough — specialist knowledge of the field is needed here, and it certainly isn't just the antenna!

Indeed it does include other equipment including remote interfaces. I thought of "above ground equipment" but elsewhere reference is made to cable ducts...

Apparently the aerial is radar antenna.

The radar exists to perceive and detect, collect information by means of radio waves. By reflecting the object from a transmitter the radar can transmit information connected with whatever it perceives in its vicinity. (wikipedia.org/wiki/radar)
