neutral  Daryo: oui, il y a une "limite de 30%" dans cette histoire, mais... 30% *de quoi"? Par rapport "à quoi*?

disagree  Daryo: a machine translation as "the reference"? Seriously? Besides that it's far too vague.

disagree  Tony M: We can't say 'dépassant' here, as 'within' also implies it might be 'not less than... by more than 30%' — IOW, "within ± 30%"

disagree  Daryo: If you don't understand the objection, it might be because you probably didn't get the exact meaning of the ST either?

a concentration that is within thirty percent of the targeted concentration value
une concentration qui s'écarte de moins de 30% de la valeur cible (pour la concentration)

Explanation:
you have to look at the whole of

a concentration that is within thirty percent of the targeted concentration value

When you have a "target / targeted value" you want your actual value to be exactly that value - or within a range of "deviation from the target" that you consider as still acceptable - here 30% of the targeted value for the concentration so

the "within" HERE means that the difference between the actual and the targeted value for the concentration (of whatever is dissolved) is no more than 30% i.e. "whithin the range from 70% to 130% of the targeted value"

within = within the range of "acceptable deviation from the ideal/targeted value"

30% = the admissible deviation/difference from the target value is + or - 30% of the targeted value

these are the key elements left implied as being bl**dy blindingly obvious for the author and the intended audience - (and who cares about some translator that might one day have to figure out what it means exactly!)

I think a more explicit wording would be preferable.

etc.
