English term or phrase: spread the gap
I'm doing a self-help course translation. At one moment , it says, "Take a little responsibility upon yourself to spread the gap a bit more every day between what a normal human will do, and what's your true human potential. You will be outperforming those around you very soon."
How would you guys translate "spread the gap"?

Spanish translation:ampliar la brecha
Explanation:
I think that this expression works... sth like "ampliar cada día más la brecha entre lo que un humano común hará y tu verdadero potencial humano" sounds natural to me.
Hope you find it useful

agree  Rebecca Reddin: I really like that this translation maintains the image of the symbolic space (and therefore difference) between the two groups, which unfortunately, the admittedly idiomatic "marcar la diferencia" does not.

haga que ... se note la diferencia

Explanation:
