Girl, you gon' be on restriction for like a month at least.

Someone telling his friend that he will on restriction for sneaking out, I don't have more context to clarify the type of restriction, what is usually the restriction in cases like this, is it from going out with friends or deeper one like restriction from using social media and other devices? Any suggestions is welcome.

Thanks in advance,

Ground child/or a teenager

Very popular form of punishment in the USA for instance. For teenager, grounding means things like taking away all electronic devices, preventing them from seeking their boyfriends, friends, going to the mall or removing any activity they are interest in as a way of teaching them a lesson! To be grounded takes many forms.

Another way of saying it is: "depriving someone of something" in order to teach them a lesson. Often teenagers who skip school/cut classes apart from punishment meted out by the school, often are grounded by their parents even up to a month, and privileges taken away. In other words, their normal routines are disrupted.
