Albanian term or phrase: predha e plumbit
Again, from a list of material found after a crime:

2 copëza metali që dyshohet të janë pjesë të predhës së plumbit, nxjerrë nga koka e viktimë

According to my dictionary, both words, predha and plumb, can be translated as "bullet". What's the explanation?

Thanks a lot, Klementina. Seems that the meaning "shell" refers to an outer layer on the bullet. Such a thing was mentioned at Wikipedia.

bullet

Explanation:
'predha e plumbit' makes no sense.
'Predha' is bigger than a bullet. It is typically fired by bigger weapons such as tanks.

Just 'bullet' would be enough.

Bullet is the part that leaves the gun. Shell is what remains.

bullet/projectile

Explanation:
in military terms fishek - ammunition is the albanian word for the thing that is made of both bullet (which leaves the gun when fired) and the shell that fall to the ground after.
so on this case, as Jonis says, its just bullet - eventhough sometimes bullet means the whole thing. you may also use projectile but that depends on how technical you wanna be.
