The DM3 Model as a Systematic Procedure Model for Conversational Commerce

Each touchpoint has to be analysed both for itself and in conjunction with other touchpoints regarding costs, benefit and risk. This is the only way to derive the ideal current and future Conversational Commerce strategy. The general idea is to assess the trade-off between costs, benefit and risk. A high degree of automation of a touchpoint may have efficiency benefits but on the other hand also high costs and in some cases may lead to a suboptimal customer experience. A systematic comparison of costs, benefits and risks is thus indispensable.

Thereby it is not a matter of 0/1 decisions. Rather, a decision has to be made as to which degree of automation makes sense for which touchpoint
