Spanish term or phrase: Cargas

Hello!

The term "carga" appears a few times in a Spanish "sentencia de divorcio" but I am not quite sure what the best translation into Br English would be.

These are some excerpts from the text:

- [...] el Juez adoptará las medidas en relación a los hijos, vivienda, *cargas* y liquidación del régimen económico.

- En cuanto a sus *cargas*, no constan *cargas* de préstamos en el matrimonio y sí un préstamo personal concertado por [...].

I have checked a couple of Legal Dictionaries and I have found the following options: responsibilities/expenses/duties/upkeep. However, I am not confident any of these would suit the text/context. What do you think?
