Medical - General / Conversation / Greetings / Letters / Cardiology Report
Romanian term or phrase: Contract / conventie
This is at the top of this short one-page report, underneath the Dr's name and the department name (Clinical cardiology for adults).

To put "Contract / Meeting" in English would look a bit odd, so can somebody explain to me what exactly this is for, rather than give a literal translation.....? (i.e. I do not need a word-for-word translation without an explanation).

Contract or agreement
Explanation:
It most probably refers to the contractual relationship between the service user and Casa Națională de Asigurări de Sănătate
***
"...indiferent de casa de asigurari de sanatate la care este luat in evident asiguratul, in conditiile in care furnizorul de medicamente respectiv are contract cu aceeasi casa de asigurari de sanatate cu care se afla in contract/conventie medicul prescriptor."

"...asiguratul a avut biletul de trimitere iniţial eliberat de medicul de familie şi numai în condiţiile în care medicul trimiţător se află în relaţie contractuală - contract sau convenţie - cu casa de asigurări de sănătate."

On a different note, I'm not sure why only Native English speakers would be qualified enough to read a Romanian medical report.

Notes to answerer
Asker: In this case I think contract would better be described in English as "policy", this is the reason why I prefer a description to a word-for-word translation. Thank you, anyway.

agree  Adrian MM.: The only thing I, as a native English speaker or 'squeaker', can add is that 1. 'conventie' is a false friend with a convention meeting and 2. the UK lawyers' preference of a translation of a (non-binding) agreement for 'contract' would be tautologous.

-> It is a false friend, indeed. However, "convenție" seems to refer to an agreement between states, which is not the context here

agree  Sinéad Moore: There's not enough context from the original for me to say confidentally that it regers to a contract with the CNAS but in UK English we'd still call this a contract, right? You have a contract with the NHS, albeit an unwritten one. Policies are for priv-

-> Absolutely, "policy" is not the equivalent here but it is a type of contract

agree  Cristina Crişan: AFAIK the contract/agreement between the doctor (or perhaps the cardiology department) and the health insurance authority cannot be referred to as a 'policy'.

agree  ION CAPATINA: contract/agreement sounds good and reliable
