Muchas gracias

(US) The State Counsel's Office (UK: Queen's Proctor) Treasury Solicitor Off. joined in as a party
Explanation:
Again the Queen's or King's Proctor -now the Solicitor-General in E&W, can - if any 'monkey business' is suspected - step in and stop a decree nisi being made absolute.

Nowt to do with public prosecution but the latter is subsumed thereunder:

'Queen's Proctor (and even His/Her Majesty's Procurator General), when the sitting English monarch is a woman. The office of the Queen's Proctor is now merged within the office of the Treasury Solicitor of the United Kingdom which includes the Director of Public Prosecutions.'

I would suggest

you could also say "Public Prosecutor's Office" but in this sort of context I would prefer a more formal rendering as suggested

not sure to what extent they were involved but that's the idea

disagree  patinba: Sorry, but it is obviously a Spanish entity, so there is no point in giving foreign entity approximate equivalents.

-> My main point - that seems to have been lost on most previous ProZ answers - was the *non-prosecutorial* functions of the UK Queen's (King's) Proctor who can intervene in UK divorce cases. Anyway, feel free to post a more literal rendering!

agree  Robert Carter: State Counsel's Office yes, but Queen's Proctor clearly a no-no and no.//Ah, I see, probably better off putting that in the body of your answer to avoid confusion.

-> Thanks and gracias. Queen's Proctor bracketed but for most Anglo-Irish translators' info. and Treasury Sol's Office meant only 'to set the non-prosecutorial vs. prosecutorial scene' in a pending divorce.//Right! I in fact have used Proctor-General's Dept.
