French term or phrase: en plein frisson
In the context of a kidney transplant patient with an infection:
Malgré ce traitement, a persisté une fièvre à 40 °C accompagnée de frissons, sans autre manifestation clinique, notamment respiratoire. Plusieurs séries d’hémocultures ont été à nouveau prélevées ** en plein frisson**, au cours des séances d’hémodialyse.

I just can't think how best to word this in this context. I would say it is something like 'shaking all over'/ 'shivering violently' but I'm sure there must be a more suitable term. Any suggestions welcome. Thanks

During a bout / attack of shivering

Explanation:
As Tonyy says rigor is used but this might sound nicer!

The sudden attack of severe shivering accompanied by a feeling of coldness ('the chills') is called a rigor and is associated often with a marked rise in body temperature. It may be described by patients as an attack of uncontrollable shaking.

agree  Cyril Tollari: I think this is the most helpful answer. I agree with shivering, but not rigor. If this is more violent than shivering, the person that wrote this report failed to use the right word for it.
