"Serged" kommt wohl von der Nähmaschine "Serger" - im Deutschen "Overloock-Maschine" und wird in diesem Fall (Daunenmantel) verwendet, um ein Verrutschen der Daune zu verhindern. Eventuell "komplett umstochene und nach unten geschlossene Taschen"?
